Maïté Lavrilleux joined Kahn & Associés in 2009 as a partner in charge of the Restructuring Department and of the expansion of the Private Equity/ M&A/ Capital Market/ Corporate Department, especially in buyouts.

Maïté began her career in 1995 at the law firm of Borden Ladner Gervais (previously Mac Master Meighen) in Canada, before joining in 1996 the law firm of Michel Cardin (former partner at the law firm of Berlioz) specialized in M&A, Joint Ventures and Corporate deals.  In 1999, she joined the law firm of Ernst & Young and practiced for more than 6 years in the fields of Private Equity, M&A and Corporate. In 2005, she joined Poulain & Associés, a leading boutique law firm in Restructuring & Insolvency, as senior associate. Maïté joined Proskauer Rose LLP Paris in 2008, where she was co-head of the Private Equity Transactional Practice and co-head of the Restructuring & Insolvency Practice.

Maïté has a significiant experience in Private Equity matters, including leverage buyouts (LBOs, OBOs, MBOs, secondary deals), venture capital, mergers and acquisitions, and corporate restructuring matters. Maïté has also a strong background in restructuring work for debtors and turnaround funds.

Maïté represents French and international investment funds (LBO, venture, capital development, turnaround funds), major industrial groups and entrepreneurs in their M&A or Private Equity transactions.

In her Restructruring & Insolvency activity, Maïté advises:

• The investment funds or financial institutions in connection with acquisition of receivables;
• The shareholders in difficulty under the management of their holdings or the defense of their interests;
• The troubled companies and their directors, at all stages of the procedure.

Maïté is member of the main associations in Restructuring & Insolvency (Insol Europe, Turnaround Management Association, Turnaround Committee of AFIC) and actively involves in training in Restructuring matters.


Maïté received her Ph.D in Economics and Business Law and Master’s Degree in Business Law and Tax Law from the University of Paris, Panthéon-Sorbonne. Maïté holds a post-graduate degree from the Institute of International

Studies of Paris (I.H.E.I., Paris II University) and is also a graduate of the international executive programs of the Berkeley School of Business (“Business & Management”) and the University of California of Los Angeles (“Negotiating Abroad”). Maïté is a member of the Paris Bar since 1995 and is perfectly fluent in French and in English.
