It has taken almost three years, but France has finally amended its online gambling legislation. Law n°2010-476 of May 12, 2010 brings to an end the monopoly enjoyed by the PMU, the French lottery group (“la Française des jeux”) and the casinos.

to this rule: the PMU ("Pari Mutuel Urbain") for horse racing bets, the casinos for gambling tables and slot machines,
and the French lottery group called "La Française des jeux" which holds a monopoly on lottery games.
